Construction material costs continue fall

The cost of construction materials continued to decline between March and April, according to federal statistics. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported a decline of 0.4% between March and April. Meanwhile, material costs are down 3.7% from year-earlier levels. Ken Simonson, chief economist with Associated General Contractors of America, noted that the government's index includes materials used in every type of construction.
