Minnesota swing bridge slated for renovation

The Coast Guard will spend millions to update the 107-year-old swing bridge that spans the Mississippi River in La Crescent, Minn. The 151-foot-wide opening makes navigating the waterway difficult for modern vessels. "The bridge stayed the same, but navigation got bigger," said Roger Wiebusch, bridge administrator for the Coast Guard.
