Closing arguments begin in lawsuit over Maryland slots parlor

Closing arguments began Thursday in a court case over allowing a slots parlor near a shopping mall in Anne Arundel County, Md. Developer Cordish Cos. has proposed a slots parlor with up to 4,750 slot machines near Arundel Mills mall. Opponents of the measure gathered signatures to place it on a ballot referendum in November, but the lawsuit alleges that the signatures were not properly verified.
