AAP policy highlights caring for homeless children

Pediatricians can play a major role in boosting the health and well-being of children who are homeless or affected by housing insecurity through practice changes such as optimization of acute care visits and increased health care access, the AAP said. The group, in a policy statement in the journal Pediatrics, encouraged pediatricians to determine the underlying causes of homelessness as well as collaborate with families to create care strategies.
