Children may benefit from mother's weight-loss surgery

Children born to women who underwent gastric bypass surgery had lower body mass and different gene activity related to blood glucose metabolism and heart disease risk than their siblings born prior to the surgery, a small study indicated. The results were published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
