Congress considers legislation to revise Medicare audit process

The House and Senate are considering legislation that would make Medicare audits more transparent and restrict some third-party audit practices. Policies that reward auditors for identifying errors may present conflicts of interest, the American Hospital Association said in a letter of support to Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., who introduced the bill.
