Excess weight in infancy tied to childhood obesity

Babies who were a little overweight at 18 months had a higher chance of being overweight and having higher systolic blood pressure at age 8, according to an Australian study. Boys and babies born with greater birth length or born early were more likely to gain excess weight by 18 months of age, researchers said.
