A measure that would create a fund to pay for water infrastructure projects in Texas has been signed into law by Gov. Rick Perry. "We're securing the future of our great state by making sure that Texas has the water it needs for decades to come," Perry said. The fund would provide up to $30 billion for water projects over the next 50 years. Another bill passed by lawmakers would take $2 billion from the state's "rainy-day fund" to provide financing for loans for water-related projects.
