Group seeks to change regimented nature of Thailand's schools

A student-founded group known as the Thailand Educational Revolution Alliance is seeking to do away with the country's "mechanistic" education system that is left over from its past military rule. The group has gained some support from the country's education minister, who has proposed changes to increase focus on students' critical-thinking skills, in preference to rote memorisation.
