How soft skills can help science grads find jobs

Soft skills such as teamwork and understanding another's point of view can help job seekers with a science Ph.D. find positions outside academia, Gina Stewart, CEO and a founder of Arctic, writes in this blog post. Among other things, Stewart advises practicing empathy and observing how admirable people interact with others. "Academe is an insular world, and conducting scientific research can be a relatively solitary endeavor, but in order to succeed in an industry job, you must be able to work and communicate not only with other scientists, but also with nonscientists," Stewart writes.
