Increased cardiac death risk associated with antipyschotics

Data from an ongoing community-based study in the U.S. indicate that patients using first- and second-generation antipsychotic medications had a more than threefold greater risk of sudden cardiac death than nonusers. The findings were reported at the annual meeting of the Heart Rhythm Society.
