Monday, morning admissions linked to better heart failure outcomes

An analysis of data on more than 900,000 congestive heart failure patients revealed those who were hospitalized on a Monday or between 6 a.m. and noon had better survival rates. Researchers said that patients admitted in January, on a Friday or overnight had the highest risk of dying as well as longer hospital stays. The findings were presented at the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology meeting.
