Sen. Schumer criticizes Statue of Liberty security plan

Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., said a security plan that provides for visitors to the Statue of Liberty to be screened after they get off the ferry at Liberty and Ellis islands leaves tourists and the statue vulnerable to a terrorist attack. The New York Police Department has opposed the U.S. Park Service's security plan for the statue for nearly two years.
