Researchers at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Ohio are recruiting patients believed to have early-stage Alzheimer's disease for a study that will test the imaging agent Amyvid. The study will seek to determine whether the tracer can identify brain plaques when used with PET/MRI. Researchers said the study can contribute to the understanding of Alzheimer's. "If you can help to outline the cause, you can start to find the therapy," said Dr. James O'Donnell. "You need to understand it."
