Employees want more social technology options and capabilities, according to a Microsoft-funded Ipsos report. Almost 50% of the 9,900 workers polled said social tools increased productivity, while 4 in 10 said the offerings allowed for enhanced team building. However, more than one-third said their companies restrict social media even though 31% of workers said they would use their own money to purchase these tools. "Employees are already bringing their own devices into their workplaces, but now they are increasingly bringing their own services as well," Altimeter Group's Charlene Li said.
