Tower debuts smaller device for LED lighting

Tower Semiconductor is offering a millimeter-square device that will greatly decrease the die size of AC-to-DC converters, the company says. Such converters are widely used in lighting applications with light-emitting diodes, it notes. The specialty foundry sees the market for power management chips for AC-to-DC applications increasing by 6.3% over five years' time.
