Vildagliptin shows diabetes benefits but raises CV concerns

A study presented at the Heart Failure Congress found type 2 diabetes patients with heart failure who took vildagliptin attained lower A1C levels at 16 weeks compared with those in the placebo group. However, researchers noted higher rates of cardiovascular and all-cause mortality in vildagliptin-treated patients.
