Stem cell vote near in Australian state

Legislators in New South Wales, Australia, are scheduled to vote next week on a bill to allow therapeutic cloning. Leaders of the two major parties said members would be given a conscience vote on the legislation, which would end the current ban on such stem cell work. Premier Morris Iemma said the proposal would allow valuable research to go forward.
