Corporate jobs help inner-city students stay focused on future

Chicago's Cristo Rey Jesuit High School is one of 19 urban Catholic schools that use work experience and rigorous academics to help motivate students, according to author Laura Vanderkam, noting that such a work-study model could help public school students see the applicability of their lessons to the "real" world beyond campus.
