Raytheon volunteers hope to boost interest in science, engineering

Raytheon employees are volunteering at Massachusetts schools as part of an effort to inspire middle-school students to consider engineering careers. Without a strong interest in math and science, students are unlikely to pursue engineering careers in college. "As a defense company, Raytheon can only hire U.S. citizens, so the decline in engineering degrees over the last 10 to 15 years was particularly alarming to us," noted Kristin Hilf, Raytheon vice president of community relations.
