U.S. carbon dioxide emissions grew in 2007, agency says

Carbon dioxide emissions in the U.S. were up about 1.6% last year, according to the Energy Information Administration, reversing a 1% decline in 2006. Power generation, the main source of carbon dioxide emissions, increased 2.5% for the year. Despite the absolute increase in carbon dioxide, however, emissions fell about .5% when measured as a ratio of economic output.
