WTO expected to rule soon on aircraft subsidies

The World Trade Organization is expected to rule soon on aircraft subsidies. Jetmakers Airbus and Boeing have been at odds over subsidies for aircraft for years. Boeing opposes loans for development that Airbus has received from European countries; Airbus contends that research and development aid that Boeing has received from the DOD also amounts to subsidies. Observers note that the ruling will affect countries that are building up their aircraft industry.
