Mortgage rates creep up with bond yields, Freddie says

Following the path of long-term bond yields, fixed-rate mortgage rates headed up, Freddie Mac said. For the week that ended Thursday, the average interest rate on a 30-year fixed-rate residential mortgage was 4.91%. The rate had fallen as low as 4.78% last month.
