Pilots seek coast-to-coast record in light sport aircraft

Next month, pilots Matt Hansen and Jessica Scharle will attempt to fly into the record books with a one-day, coast-to-coast flight in a Peregrine FA-04 light sport aircraft. Under the Sport Pilot Rule, the duo will have 17 hours to fly in daylight conditions from Jacksonville, Fla., to San Diego, making three refueling stops along the way.
