OCR to ask for feedback on proposed EHR data disclosure rule

The HHS Office of Civil Rights' proposed rule governing provider accountability when disclosing patient information from electronic health records is set to be published today in the Federal Register, after which the rule will be up for public comment for 60 days. The proposal promises to cut the time it takes for disclosure reports to be furnished to individuals who request such information.
