Officials respond to increase in mobile cybercrime

The rapid growth of mobile technology has created opportunities for cybercriminals, said Deputy Assistant Attorney General Jason Weinstein. The Department of Justice is committing more resources to investigating and prosecuting crimes such as data theft, malware attacks and cyberstalking. Lawmakers should ensure agencies have adequate legal backing to effectively police mobile technology, Weinstein said.
