Board members of the Sun City Aliante HOA in Las Vegas sought to boost HOAs' image by being the first to participate in Nevada's certification program at the Community Associations Institute. The members took courses to learn more about community management, ethics and finances. "This is a tremendous community, and I think our board is unique in the sense that there are seven people all working for the betterment of the community," HOA President Mark Smith says. "Nobody has an individual agenda or is looking to make a name for themselves. We work to make the community better."
