Apparel retailers find Mexico ripe for expansion

Rising incomes, falling tariffs and a population with a median age of 26 have made Mexico an attractive expansion market for many US and European clothing retailers including H&M, Gap, American Eagle Outfitters and Forever 21. "Now with the situation in the U.S. and Europe, the brands that were very difficult to obtain are coming to Mexico," said Patrick Slim, CEO of Grupo Sanborns, which operates Sears and Saks Fifth Avenue stores in Mexico.
