Tiny brain-embedded wires have been used to transmit neural activity from one rat to another at a distant location. The effect generated by researchers at Duke University is something like ESP. What isn't known is how the receiving rat experienced the neural signals, but similar experiments with human beings whose brains were electrically stimulated to produce actions were interpreted as volition.
