India sees resurgence in schooling for traditional engineering

With a slowdown in other areas of engineering in India, students are now beginning to return to core engineering branches such as civil, electrical and mechanical, said Shankar S. Mantha, chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education. Ready employment coming out of the core fields is one draw, Mantha said, but versatility is another advantage of learning in the traditional fields.
