Iowa town is first in the state to offer gigabit speeds

Cedar Falls, Iowa, has become the nation's 11th municipality and the first in Iowa to offer 1 gigabit peak broadband speeds to residents. Cedar Falls Utilities said Tuesday that it had introduced a residential and business service over the city's new fiber-optic network. Homeowners will pay $275 a month and businesses $950 a month for the gigabit service.
