Mich. school superintendent urges lawmakers to back the common core

Michigan State Superintendent Mike Flanagan on Wednesday criticized efforts by some state lawmakers to cut funding for the Common Core State Standards. A provision to halt funding has been approved by the state's House of Representatives. Critics say the public needs more time to properly vet the standards.
