Small companies offer perks in place of health insurance

Some small companies are choosing to offer a range of perks in place of health care benefits as they attempt to attract talented employees, according to a report from Bank of America. Forty-five percent of business owners surveyed said they offer flexible working arrangements or telecommuting opportunities, but only about one-third of respondents said they offer traditional health care benefits. In addition, 31% provide perks such as healthy foods or massages in the office.
