States join retailers in protesting swipe-fee settlement

Attorneys general in California, Ohio, Arizona and six other states are joining big retailers to object to the $7.25 billion swipe-fee settlement with Visa and MasterCard. The attorneys general argue that the deal could keep them from being able to sue the companies in the future for actions that may harm the states' residents.
