Survey: Teachers of all disciplines are focusing on literacy

A recent survey by the National Center for Literacy Education finds that, in the era of the Common Core State Standards, 77% of teachers are prioritizing literacy. This means that teachers of all disciplines will spend time collaborating on literacy plans that best serve students. "It's much more widely understood today that every educator has a responsibility to improve student literacy, which is the gateway to learning in all disciplines," said Kent Williamson, director of NCLE.
