Fla. board approves expansion of Turkey Point nuclear plant

The Florida Siting Board approved Florida Power & Light's plan to add two new reactors at the Turkey Point Nuclear Generating Station. The 1,100-megawatt AP1000 pressurized-water reactors that FPL chose for the new units are worth $12 billion to $18 billion and are expected to come into operation by 2022 or 2023, said FPL spokesman Peter Robbins.
