Iowa district considers "clustering" for gifted education

A school district in Iowa is considering a "clustering" model for gifted education in grades 4 to 6. The model calls for placing three to six students who are gifted in a mixed-ability classroom with gifted-education teachers available to help teachers differentiate instruction. The model also would better utilize the district's limited gifted-education staff, teacher Cori Latcham recently told board members.
