"Mad Men" recalls bygone advertising era

The drama "Mad Men" is set at the fictional advertising agency of Sterling Cooper, and the typewriters, overflowing ashtrays and the freely flowing liquor make it clear that it's set in the industry's distant past. The show's producers are hoping to lure single-sponsor advertising, to lend the show even more of a period flavor. The AMC cable TV network is considering picking up the show as a weekly series.
