FDA chief defends cooperation with drug companies

FDA Commissioner Andrew von Eschenbach defended his agency's cooperation with drug companies as important for the development and safety of new drugs. In detailing the agency's work to make drug development faster and more predictable, von Eschenbach said, "This is a collaboration, but it's not just a collaboration with drug companies, it's a collaboration with academia and with other agencies."
