Minnesota charter school sues sponsor over closing

A charter school is suing to force its former sponsor to reconsider its decision to close the school in a case that could change Minnesota's climate for charter schools. "This is going to have a chilling effect on sponsors," said Chas Anderson, deputy commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Education. "Sponsors will be very hesitant to take on charter schools, knowing that if something went wrong, that they would have to operate a charter school that is dysfunctional."
