Hollywood's anti-piracy tactics questioned

Last weekend, legitimate peer-to-peer video site Revision3 was effectively shut down in a denial-of-service attack from MediaDefender, an anti-piracy service used by major studios and record labels. "Hollywood goes too far and loses all credibility when their investigators, in the name of antipiracy, act like lawless pirates and hack servers and force law abiding services off the Internet," said attorney Ira Rothken, who recently represented TorrentSpy in a copyright case.
