Survey: Travel avoidance costs U.S. economy billions:

A survey by the Travel Industry Association found that many air travelers are opting to stay home rather than endure flight delays, cancellations, lost luggage, security lines and other issues with air travel. The situation translates to an estimated $26.5 billion that the airlines and other travel-related businesses are losing.
