Activision readies subscription service for "Call of Duty"

In what is thought to be an industry first, Activision Blizzard this fall will begin offering a subscription-based online service titled Call of Duty Elite. The offering, which will be tied to the next edition of the popular game franchise "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3," will include extra content and downloadable map packs that give players new levels to play. The company has not yet announced how much the monthly subscription service will cost.
