College students participate in Wikipedia project

College students across the country are participating in a project to write Wikipedia entries on public-policy issues. The project, organized by the Wikimedia Foundation, is aimed at bolstering content on the online encyclopedia's site, which has been called unreliable by many academics. Students are learning the reasons behind this policy first-hand, as their contributions are deleted or revised according to the site's open-source format, by which anyone can edit entries.
