Education reform being considered in Thailand

Thailand's Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has proposed a six-year plan to reform education in the country, which traditionally has focused on a nationalistic curriculum. The effort is intended to help produce a more highly skilled workforce and draw in foreign investment, officials say. Thailand's students now lag behind their peers in other Asian countries, and schools focus primarily on basic literacy and memorisation.
