G-8 leaders support Lagarde in bid to head IMF

French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe said all leaders from the Group of 8 nations support French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde to become the next managing director of the International Monetary Fund. "Among the eight heads of state and government, plus the president of the European Commission and the president of the European Council who were there, there was unanimous support for Christine Lagarde," Juppe said. Meanwhile, Lagarde asked for an investigation into a 2008 legal case that could thwart her candidacy.
