Mostashari touts progress: 50% increase in EHR use in a year

HHS has issued $1.7 billion in funding to support efforts to promote widespread use of electronic health records. Regional extension centers have enlisted 67,000 doctors who are on their way to achieving health IT meaningful use, and the number of primary care providers using EHRs grew 50% in 2010. "The basic framework is very robust, and we're going to continue to move ahead," said National Coordinator for Health IT Dr. Farzad Mostashari.
