Mostashari touts progress in federal EHR effort

HHS has issued $1.7 billion in funding to support efforts to promote widespread use of electronic health records. Thus far, regional extension centers have enlisted 67,000 doctors that are well on their way to achieving HIT meaningful use and 30% of primary care providers nationwide had adopted EHRs by the end of 2010. "The basic framework is very robust, and we're going to continue to move ahead," said National HIT Coordinator Dr. Farzad Mostashari.
