Survey: Most ED docs order tests for fear of being sued

A survey from the American College of Emergency Physicians found that 44% of emergency department physician respondents consider the fear of lawsuits as the major hurdle in saving costs. Fifty-three percent of respondents said the main reason they order several tests is out of fear of a lawsuit.
