Debut of Moto X could test cooperation between Samsung, Google

Motorola Mobility this summer will release its first smartphone under the Google banner -- the Moto X. The device places Google in direct competition with top Android-phone-maker Samsung, which commands 45.9% of the U.S. market, according to eMarketer. Google executives say they won't favor Motorola over Samsung, which is nonetheless working on an open-source operating system as an alternative to Android.
